About this Tour

Tshechu is one of the important festival of Bhutan. Tshechu is a festival that celebrates the 10th day of the Guru Rinpoche and its celebrated by all people from all walks of life. It is very vibrant & colorful and a joy to be part of. Wangdue is one of the western district of Bhutan amongst 21 others.

To commemorate the 10th Day of Guru Rinpoche, people from Wangdue and nearby dzongkhags gather in Wangdue Dzong's courtyard to receive blessings and withness the famous mask dance that depicts the afterlife through various mask dances. It is believed that by just witnessing the dances cleanses one's soul and makes it easier in one's afterlife to attain Nirvana

It is also a great time to see the Bhutanese culture hands on as every one comes in their best attire and best cooked dishes. Its a holiday during Tshechu so gathering is huge. Bhutan Eka Tours will assign learned guides to further enrich you on the religious aspects of this Tshechu.

Tour Rules

During temple, monastery, Dzong visits, guest has to be properly dressed as shorts and half sleeve dresses are not allowed inside. Photography is mostly prohibited inside. Smoking in public is not allowed and attracts fine.

Day 129th Sep 25: Arrive at Paro Airport from Bangkok

Checkin to the hotel and freshen up and set out to tour Paro. Overnight at Hotel

Day 230th Sep 25: Paro to Thimmphu

After breakfast, drive to Thimphu. Sight seeing in Thimphu. Overnight at Hotel in Thimphu

Day31st Oct 25: Thimphu to Punakha

After break fast, drive to Punakha and check in at hotel. Visit Wangdue nearby and witness the Wangdue Tshechu. Back to Punakha and overnight at the hotel.
